Qualifying entries completed before 31 March 2017 will be ranked by score, with completion times used to determine results where students have received the same score. Preference is given first to students who have completed an official Microsoft Office Specialist exam, and then to students who have completed a practice test in testing mode. The top 10 students in each State will be invited to attend their appropriate State Championship to be held at the times and locations listed here.
At the State Championship students will compete by undertaking a Microsoft Office Specialist exam. The three students with the highest scores at this event will be named State Champion and Runners-Up and will be invited to represent their State at the National Championship. If multiple students finish with the same score, students will be ranked by quickest completion time to determine the outcome. Students will be completing an exam in their application and version of choice and will be ranked against each other regardless of their chosen application or version.
